The Templeton Community Service District voted to continue with remote meetings despite the cost of travel.

The templeton csd is a district in the United States that voted to continue with remote meetings.

The General Manager of the TCSD has been awarded the Leadership Foundation Certificate.

TEMPLETON — The Tempeleton Community Services District (TCSD) conducted an open session meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 5 at 7 p.m., as part of its regular monthly schedule.

Director Logan opened the meeting by discussing the Governor’s executive order on AB 361 and the resolution the Board must approve in order to continue holding remote meetings. General Manager Briltz explained the resolution’s origins and the necessity to renew it every 30 days. Director English enquired about the Board Room’s preparedness as well as the progress of the County mask mandate.

Director Logan said that she prefers to continue meetings where participants are not required to wear masks, and that she would continue to use Zoom sessions until the requirement changes. Director Logan moved to pass the resolution, which was approved 5-0, allowing the proclamation to be issued and the Brown Act flexibility for remote meetings to be extended.

The Board then heard the Sheriff’s Department’s September report. There were 1747 calls for service this year, including 408 in Templeton, compared to 1910 the year before. While there were fewer calls for help this year than the previous year, there were more reports.

Following that, Andrew Klein, the new Fire Captain, was pinned. Klein grew up on the Central Coast and finished his career in Santa Monica before choosing to return with his wife, three kids, and a baby on the way to the Central Coast.

A unique plaque of the Special District Leadership Foundation Certified Special District Manager was given to General Manager Jeff Briltz. There are 3,300 special districts in California, with 55 receiving the certificate.

The first question in public comment was regarding the flags on the overpass and if there had been any follow-up from the last meeting when it was addressed. After seeing flags that were zip-tied and not being handled by anybody, Director Logan said she followed up with Commander Stewart. The fear is that they may break loose and create problems; furthermore, people who are standing there are blocking the bike lane, making it impossible for bicycles to pass. The CHP has been informed at this time and will proceed on days when protesters are present.

Except for item A, which was the approval of the meeting minutes, which Director Jardini abstained from since she was not present for that meeting, the consent agenda was adopted with a 5-0 vote.

The General Manager’s briefing started with a discussion of Evers Park’s transitory guests. It hasn’t caused any problems yet, and it’s just a reminder to be alert.

On Saturday, Oct. 9, from 9 a.m. to noon, there will be a fire station open house.

Templeton was able to seek for a direct cost reimbursement of $30,000 via the COVID relief fund. The request has been submitted, but Templeton will not know the amount until California evaluates all special districts.

The next meeting is set for Oct. 19 at 7 p.m., with links to the meeting and the agenda available on the District’s website:
