After LeBron James and Kevin Durant, Westbrook is the third most exciting player in basketball. Now that he’s off to a good start with his new team, Oklahoma City Thunder fans hope their favorite superstar can carry them into the playoffs.

Russell Westbrook is the new face of the New York Knicks. He has been a great player for them, and they are hoping he can eliminate the Knicks as potential new NBA home. Read more in detail here: russell westbrook shooting percentage 2022.

Russell Westbrook Can Eliminate the Knicks as Potential New NBA Home

Russell Westbrook’s first season with the Los Angeles Lakers has been a disappointment. Despite the fact that his poor performance has lowered his league worth, the writing is on the wall that his homecoming is drawing to a stop.

However, with his large remaining contract, which includes a $47 million player option for next season, the Lakers’ route to a settlement will be difficult. The New York Knicks have been ruled out as a probable destination for the former league MVP due to these circumstances.

Westbrook’s homecoming hasn’t gone as well as he had wanted.

Instead, the former league MVP is being held responsible for much of the Lakers’ woes. His inconsistency has shown his challenges to feel at ease while playing in his hometown.

The issue has been complicated by injuries to LeBron James and Anthony Davis, but Westbrook has yet to demonstrate his ability to adapt to the position the Lakers need of him. He’s continued to play the fast-paced style that has garnered him nine All-Star appearances and a regular-season MVP award.

According to Basketball-Reference, Westbrook is still a liability from beyond the arc (29.4%), and he’s only making 32.8 percent of his jump attempts. As he nears the end of his first season in Los Angeles, one probable vacation destination has been crossed off his list.

Russell Westbrook may be able to rule out the Knicks as a possible new NBA home.

Even if Russell Westbrook tries to save the remainder of the 2021-22 season, it’s clear that his time with the Lakers will be limited to one year.

Los Angeles, on the other hand, may find it tough to move on from the talented point guard. Since before the February trade deadline, one possible landing location has stayed out of the picture.

Jake Fischer of Bleacher Report said during a recent appearance on New York Times’ Marc Stein’s podcast that the Knicks had no interest in acquiring the former league MVP.

“I proposed the notion to the Knicks guys many times leading up to the deadline, and they were uninterested,” Fischer said. “… According to what I’ve heard, New York is attempting to develop this group as is, while mixing and matching a few elements in order to go ahead.”

The Knicks’ lack of interest isn’t surprising, given that the team hasn’t shown an interest in acquiring Westbrook. The Knicks would give the great point guard a new start, but they are unwilling to pay his $47 million contract next season.

The Knicks are in the midst of a rebuild, seeking to shuffle their team in order to reclaim the momentum they had in the previous season, which saw them reach the playoffs. In other words, New York does not see Westbrook as a component that can help them advance in the direction they want to go.

Furthermore, it emphasizes how difficult it will be for the Lakers to transfer Westbrook next summer.

The x-factor for Los Angeles is the star point guard.

Instead of addressing other roster needs, the Lakers made their bed by trading for Russell Westbrook.

Westbrook’s stay, on the other hand, is still up in the air, since he may be able to help the team to the playoffs. They’ll need to win a couple of play-in tournament games to advance, but the potential is there.

The Lakers have established a strong sense of direction during the previous four games by putting out continuous effort. Westbrook has improved his performance as a result, averaging 22.0 points, 9.3 assists, and 8.5 rebounds while shooting 52.2 percent from the field.

LeBron James will lead the assault, but the Lakers will need Russell Westbrook to carry them ahead. Anthony Davis’ impending return will be a huge boost, but here is the 33-year-time old’s to show he can be the x-factor the team needs to go back into the playoffs and maybe beyond.
