The Green Bay Packers and Arizona Cardinals are off to a strong start in Week 8 of the NFL season. Despite missing three of their best receivers, the Packers, led by Aaron Rodgers, defeated the Cardinals for the first time.
Week 8’s quarterback availability was a major concern. With Tyrod Taylor still on injured reserve, the Houston Texans will start Davis Mills. The Cleveland Browns have received some excellent news. Baker Mayfield, who missed Week 7 due to a left shoulder injury, will start Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers in a rivalry game.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have a few questions heading into Sunday’s game against the New Orleans Saints. Although receiver Antonio Brown is out, Bucs coach Bruce Arians says tight end Rob Gronkowski (cracked ribs), inside linebacker Lavonte David (low ankle sprain), and cornerback Richard Sherman (hamstring strain) all have “a shot” to play Sunday.

Hand injury In the team’s Week 6 triumph against the Tennessee Titans, Knox broke his hand and then delivered a 2-point conversion pass to quarterback Josh Allen before exiting the game. The tight end will not play against the Miami Dolphins this weekend, but he has not been put on injured reserve. In his stead, Tommy Sweeney is slated to start at tight end. Knox’s absence will most likely open up chances for a number of attacking players. Alaina Getzenburg (Alaina Getzenburg)
Mack is expected to be sidelined for the foreseeable future for the Bears. Mack went weeks without practicing yet still managed to play in games. Mack’s ongoing foot ailment, on the other hand, has led the Bears to believe that their finest defensive player need rest. He’ll be out of Sunday’s game against the 49ers, according to the team. Mack’s departure is a major setback for the Bears. With six sacks, he leads the team. Dickerson, Jeff
Ward, Cleveland’s best cornerback, will miss the game after suffering an injury last week. That means rookie Greg Newsome and Greedy Williams will be the Browns’ starting cornerbacks against the Steelers. Jake Trotter’s remark
Throughout the week, Williams’ practicing time was restricted. He’s on the list of suspects. Lions coach Dan Campbell stated, “He’s still got some strength in it, which is fantastic.” “That’s a good thing. It came up last week, but he completed the game for us and did an excellent job. But we’ll never know. Jamaal intends to travel if he is able. It’s just a question of ‘Can he handle a load?’”
Swift has been dealing with a groin problem since training camp, but he should be ready to face his hometown Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday. With minimal practices throughout the week, the Lions continue to monitor the situation in order to avoid it from worsening. Eric Woodyard’s remark
The Texans decided Taylor wasn’t ready to return off injured reserve against the Rams on Sunday, so he’ll miss his sixth consecutive game. Taylor has made improvement, but isn’t nearly ready to play, according to head coach David Culley. Davis Mills, a rookie quarterback, will start against the Rams. Sarah Barshop is a writer.
Whitworth will not play against the Houston Texans on Sunday, according to coach Sean McVay. “He was given medical attention. We wanted to be able to be strategic about it, and we believe he’s reacted admirably to the therapy “McVay said. “However, we understood that if he took part in that therapy, he would most likely be removed from the game.” The Rams will start Joseph Noteboom in Whitworth’s place, who started nine games at the position last season when Whitworth was also out with a knee ailment. Lindsey Thiry (Lindsey Thiry)
Pierce will return after the bye, according to Vikings general manager Rick Spielman, but Minnesota has ruled out its starting nose tackle for the game against Dallas. Pierce is still recovering from an elbow ailment and hasn’t practiced this week.
Westbrook was classified as doubtful on the latest injury report, but special teams coordinator Ryan Ficken indicated he expected him to be the team’s punt returner in Week 8. Courtney Cronin (Courtney Cronin)
Smith, who was injured in the Jets’ Week 7 triumph, has been on the practice field every day this week with limited participation. So far, everything seems to be going in the correct way. — Reiss, Mike
Injury: Pectoral Peat suffered an injury Monday night and might miss the remainder of the season, which would be a huge loss given his three Pro Bowl appearances. However, the Saints have a number of seasoned choices to choose from, including veteran James Hurst and second-year pro Calvin Throckmorton. And, thankfully, they just got two more starting offensive lineman back from injury last week, so they’re still fairly intact. Triplett, Mike
Concussion is a common injury. Hill has been missed both a runner and a pass receiver for a Saints offense that has struggled to find consistent playmakers this season. Fortunately, the Saints have received reinforcements in both areas, with RB Mark Ingram II having just been acquired in a trade and WRs Tre’Quan Smith and Deonte Harris having recently returned from injury. Hill’s comeback date has not been set by Sean Payton, although he has said that he is improving.
Ebron was listed as having a hamstring strain on the practice report on Thursday and didn’t practice on Friday before being declared out of Sunday’s game against the Browns. He has just one score and hasn’t had much of an offensive effect this season, but with WR JuJu Smith-Schuster out for the season, Ebron and the tight ends were expected to play a bigger part. Due to Ebron’s absence, rookies Pat Freiermuth and Zach Gentry will likely get additional playing time. Melvin Ingram, a linebacker with the Steelers, is also classified as questionable. With a groin ailment, he was restricted in practice all week and missed Friday’s game. Coach Mike Tomlin also shot down any trade speculations around his rotational linebacker on Friday. Brooke Pryor is an actress who plays Brooke Pryor.
Williams’ status is in jeopardy for the second week in a row. After missing last week’s game against the Colts due to a lack of practice throughout the week, he made a step forward on Friday by participating in a restricted capacity. He’s listed on the injury report as doubtful, but his return would be a significant boost for an offense that is still missing tight end George Kittle and is coming off a shaky performance in the rain last week. Nick Wagoner is a writer.
The All-Pro guard has been out for the previous three games due to a knee injury, but he was able to practice this week despite being restricted. Scherff is “very, very close” to being ready to play, according to Washington coach Ron Rivera. It would be shocking if he didn’t play at this stage. For a club on a three-game losing run, it would be a huge lift. His ability to block in tight spaces will be beneficial against a Denver club that has battled with screens. ‘John Keim’
