The new ships will make their U.S. debuts in December, at the end of their first full year in operation. The pair of vessels, Discovery of the Seas and Harmony of the Seas, are 1,900-passenger ships with a combined carrying capacity of 3,100 passengers. The ships will be deployed on the 7-night Eastern Caribbean itineraries with call in: Fort Lauderdale, Miami, Nassau, St. Thomas, and Charlotte Amalie, in the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Two vessels owned by the Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) will restart sailing U.S. itineraries in the coming weeks, according to an announcement from MSC. Both the MSC Columbus and the MSC Splendida will begin sailings from New York, New Jersey, and Philadelphia on June 23. The two ships previously sailed the Mediterranean and Caribbean from 2010-2014, but have been out of service for several years.

MSC Cruises has announced it will restart voyages to the U.S. in October 2018. The chartered ship will be the MSC Seaside, which will sail from New York and the Bahamas to Miami and the Bahamas. The MSC Seaside, which is a newbuild from the Greek shipyard Pantaenius, will be the first MSC ship to offer a suite of experiences available on MSC’s properties, including private shore excursions, and a series of specialty restaurants and bars.

We already know that MSC Cruises is resuming operations in the US, but this MSC Meraviglia from Miami and MSC Divina from Port Canaveral are now open for bookings. This will be the first time cruise lines have left the United States since the suspension began in March 2020. MSC has already relaunched a limited number of cruises in Europe and the UK.

MSC Meraviglia Cruises in the USA

Reservations are now open for two ships in Florida. MSC Meraviglia begins operations on August 2, 2021 to resume three- and four-night itineraries, with calls to the Bahamas and the private island of Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve. From the age of 18. MSC Divina Cruises in the USA

The MSC cruise ship, which has been on hold for more than a year, will launch three-, four- and seven-day itineraries to the Bahamas and Caribbean from Port Canaveral, Florida in September 2021. This will be the first cruise from the cruise line’s home port. Here are the details:

  • 16. September 2021: Guests can welcome MSC Divina back to the sea on a three-day cruise from Port Canaveral with visits to Nassau, the Bahamas and the MSC Ocean Cay Marine Sanctuary. Prices start at $239 per person for a balcony cabin.
  • 3. October 2021: Seven-night cruise from Port Canaveral with visits to MSC Ocean Cay Marine Reserve, Cozumel, Mexico, and Costa Maya, Mexico. Prices start at $649 per person for a balcony cabin.

Medical protocols are in place on the cruise line to ensure the protection of guests and crew. Both vessels will serve both vaccinated and unvaccinated clients. Guests who wish to go on a cruise and have not been fully vaccinated must purchase special travel insurance from MSC Cruises and will be subject to stricter protocols during the cruise.
